Philanthropic Phriday 67: Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario

There are of course many forms of abuse: physical, emotional and financial just for starters. And with all the generations already under stress, problems may be magnified but often behind closed doors. And then there are those perfectly legal and above-board things: endless ads for reverse mortgages, incontinence products, retirement homes, insurance - all of which may indeed have their place but tend to be marketed in inappropriate ways, preying on vulnerable folks' concerns, insecurities and physical and/or mental frailties.

I've also ordered a book by John E. Johnson and Sabby Duthie, which Citizen columnist Mohammed Adam reviewed in today's paper:
