There are still many more causes I would like to support and highlight in this blog-column but as I am only one person, my funds will only stretch so far. Today I'm back to organizations that have helped to keep me informed, entertained and somewhat sane through some long periods of lockdown.

A lot of the shows that I enjoy watching are broadcast on PBS stations so that's where this week's donation goes:

I very much enjoyed the new TV version of All Creatures Great and Small, based on James Herriott's stories of his adventures as a country vet in the Yorkshire Dales. There's Call the Midwife, which has had many highly successful seasons as well as its holiday specials. I also enjoy the various series from Masterpiece Mystery, such as Endeavour, Inspector Lewis, and the many versions of Agatha Christie stories. Midsomer Murders will soon be back with some new episodes too. This past week, I've been watching some 1960s and 70s nostalgia shows like Ready Steady Go (showing, among other famous people, a 15-year-old Lulu) and Monty Python: The Best Bits.

If you miss any of these shows the first time round, you can watch them on demand through PBS Passport (now available to Canadian viewers) or buy the DVD version.
