Women's March
Jan. 20th, 2018 03:56 pmI have to say that although I definitely consider myself a feminist, I have reservations about the Women's March that took place today, and at this time last year.
Am I a fan of Donald Trump? No, absolutely not. Can't stand the man, in fact. But he's not our leader. And like it or not, he WAS democratically elected (yes, I know the democratic process in the U.S., as in most countries, has lots of holes - but let's not go there for the time being).
Certainly we all have the right in this country to peacefully protest. I have no doubt that the marchers' hearts are in the right place (well, in a place that's dear to my own heart, which I guess isn't necessarily the same thing!) However, while I enthusiastically say "More power to them!" I didn't join them and likely won't be joining in any of these marches.
