According to the Ancestry DNA "spit test" I have more Irish ancestry than anything else (56%), vs. 34% Western European and only 6% Great Britain. I don't think I really believe it though. Ireland was more of a culture shock than I expected. I feel quite at home when I visit Scotland (it feels in many ways like Canada) although I don't think I have any Scottish ancestors. I do have a number of relatives still in England. I guess where you came from is not necessarily who you are or who you think (or feel) you are. Was I Assigned Irish At Birth?
