Believe me, I have TONS of sympathy for all the stressed-out nurses, teachers, cancer patients and many other groups of people! But does sympathy have to be a zero-sum game? Like you, I've been following all the rules but that doesn't mean we can't question those rules and suggest viable alternatives. As for "sucking it up", that's often necessary in the immediate and short term. Long term, however, unless we speak up and work towards constructive ways to address the issues we care about, we will suffer inevitable repercussions in the form of heart disease, autoimmune conditions, mental health issues or just generalized ill health and malaise.
